First Class

A:
My major work for design and technology, a redesign of both the interior and exterior of Curl Curl Sports Centre. The building was designed in Revit Architecture and placed into a 3D software called Lumion which animates the design. It was very challenging using the different types of software to create the building and teaching myself how to use the software and the various issues that arose with the technology. I had free reign to design it how I wanted, and using new and sustainable materials was a huge factor in the process.

B:

I chose The Arthur and Yvonne Boyd Education Centre at Bundanon, designed by Glenn Murcutt. The building immediately stands out amid the beautiful scenery, with the wooden feature panels complimenting the trees in the background. The sharp edges and angles are created by the veranda and the pitch of the roof contrasts to the peacefulness of the natural environment, highlighting the two elements. The combination of the different materials such as concrete, timber and iron create an industrial/contemporary feeling amongst the greenery and waters of the Shoalhaven River.

C:
This image highlights the pure beauty of nature and the built environment. The perspective of the image provides another view of Manly that is usually not observed. An area that seems large is seen to be quite small in contrast to the sea and sky. The glow illuminating on the horizon highlights the beauty of the natural environment, contrasting with the reflection of the lights on the water on the harbor side.
